Hello! I'm a professional cartographer by day, making maps and analysing spatial data. With the 2025 PUBG Global Championship now over (congrats FULL SENSE!), I thought it would be fun to dive into the telemetry data and make some maps highlighting interesting stats, strats, and fun facts from the tournament.
The maps below include data from all stages of the main tournament (group stage, last stage, and grand finals), a total of 72 games. As always, if you have any ideas for maps you'd like to see, get in touch!
The longest snipe of the tournament was by Team Orchid's boost1k-, who took out Redzone (AZLA PENTAGRAM) on Erenagel from 672 metres away. For comparison, the average distance (counting all knocks and instant kills with guns) during the tournament was 89 metres, so this is an impressive shot.
The snipe happened in game 13 of the last stage. Using an Mk12, boost1k- fired from a house at Mylta, across the bay to the south-east, taking out Redzone who was stood on the opposite shore.
For this post, I've defined a 'snipe' as a shot that either knocks, or instantly kills, an enemy. Shots which damaged someone only, or which finished an already downed player, were not counted. If you'd define snipe differently to this however, please let me know!
Rain1ng takes the title for most 'efficient' win of the tournament (winning a game while moving the least distance, excluding time spent on the plane and parachuting). After dropping on Erangel, the T1 player managed to survive until the end of the game and claim the win while moving just 4,611 metres. While this might sound like a lot, it's half the average distance (8,643 m) that players who lasted until the end of a game moved during the tournament.
This particularly efficient win occurred in game 18 of the group stage (group A game 12). After dropping, Rain1ng headed towards Yasnaya Polyana, spending the whole game moving between buildings in the south-east of the city and never leaving its limits.
For these maps I've analysed players who won games without dying only. Players who died, respawned, and then went on to win were not included, since the time they spent not in-game while waiting for a respawn would naturally lead to low travel distances.
If every map were split into 50 metre by 50 metre hexagons, this spot (circled red) on Miramar saw the most deaths over the course of the tournament.
Located south-east of Los Leones, a total of 22 deaths occurred here. Other Miramar death hotspots included south-east of Cruz del Valle (13 deaths) and north-east of Puerto Paraiso (11 deaths).
If we measure which hexagon the most damage was dealt from (that is, where players were stood when they dealt damage), then this spot (circled red) at the north of Erangel comes out on top.
A total of 2,815 damage was dealt from this hexagon, which includes three buildings. The map also highlights the relative lack of action that occurred in the south-west of Erangel's mainland over the course of the tournament.
That's all I've got time for, for now! If you'd like to see more competitive PUBG maps just let me know and I'll see what I can do.
